How to spot an Aries child
They are running to get somewhere first. They fall and scrape themselves but get up quickly and keep going. They dress in dramatic colors or wear flashy costumes. They yell, giving direction to others on what to do. If not competing athletically, they are directing a play in which they are the star.
Likes and dislikes
Aries children like to be active. They do not want to be idle. They like to start new games and projects. They don’t often like to finish them. They like to direct. They do not like to be directed. They like to be the center of attention. They do not like to be unseen or unheard. They like to be straightforward and for people to be straightforward with them. They do not like to be coddled or lied to. They like to be praised. They do not like to disappoint.
Emotions, behavior, and discipline
Your Aries child can provide your family with a lot of enthusiasm, noise, activities, and fun. Children tend to feel that everything is about them. Aries do, too, so with your Aries child, this is doubly so. Introduce early on your Aries child to playing with older children. They will develop well if they experience what it is like to cooperate with others and learn to do what is natural, which is lead. It is also wise to model and teach empathy to your Aries. They are sensitive individuals under that tough, competitive exterior.
Even though it seems like they can go it alone forever, they have a deep need to connect with others. Bring them out of their naturally self-centered world to volunteer or teach them to take care of your household pets. Aries like to feel important. Aries is quick to anger and quick to forgive. They are temperamental and can overheat like an engine in summer. As early as you can, model for them yoga, deep breathing, and meditation. Aries also have a strong intellect and respond to adults giving reason for why certain rules exist. They are very direct and can be bossy, so saying things like, “Don’t talk to me like that,” in a calm, loving and firm way will elicit respect from your Ram child. When Aries does well, shower them with praise and show you are proud. Though they tend not to be overly affectionate, they still benefit from yours. They crumble if they feel they’ve disappointed anyone. Make sure they understand what it is they did wrong, but also let them know that you love them for who they are. Learning how to be a good person means that failure sometimes happens, but it can be a success when they learn from it and make different choices next time.
