Your earthy and fixed Taurus thinks long and hard about what they want. They are almost like little grandmas and grandpas, set in their ways, so much that being a spur-of-the-moment kid won’t likely happen. But not all things can slow down for Taurus like they would want. If you find they struggle with getting out of the house to school or to run errands with you, come up with a routine for leaving. Tell them the plan, show them what you will do, and prep them the night before if you have to. If you say over and over to them, even as a baby, “Mama or Daddy is going to do this, and then we will leave in five minutes.” Your Taurus baby, who loves slow and gentle transitions, will get used to your rhythm and feel like they have some control over the changes by being in the know. Feeling like they have control over their bodies, including their minds, makes Taurus feel safe and unconditionally loved.

Taurus may be slow to communicate in words but quick to hit or kick when they feel unheard. Taurus can be very possessive of material things. Tantrums may often occur due to sharing and what they can and can’t have. Although they may not be quick to talk, they soak a lot in and process things deeply, so don’t assume that if your child isn’t speaking early or on time, they aren’t bright. They are just cooking up some precious gems to deliver in their own time. Keep talking to them or showing them how to do things even if they aren’t ready to do them. They will be ahead of the game when they are ready. Teach them about being kind and gentle with others who may like the things they like just as much. Taurus is strong and solid and during times of meltdowns, hugging them tightly calms them down.

Ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, family and close partnership is dear to them. Avoiding or ignoring them can create very deep-seated anger that can turn destructive over time. Give them strong and consistent love. Taurus can have a ferocious appetite and love sweets. However, they are also very physical and have tremendous endurance once they get started. While they don’t like to be the center of attention, they may find satisfaction in competing against themselves to be stronger, faster, and better in whatever sport they choose. Encourage physical activity through sports. If they are introverted and noncompetitive, introduce them to hiking, biking, swimming, dance, and other activities that can be done solo or with a close friend or loved one. Keeping physical will balance their insatiable appetite.
